16^th Annual Southern Fried Poetry Slam

In the summer of 2008, Tallahassee, Florida will host the 16th Annual Southern Fried Poetry Slam.   The Southern Fried Poetry Slam is the Final Four of competitive poetry and has grown to be the second largest poetry convention in the nation attracting over200 poets and over 40 teams from all over the nation.

From June5th - 7th, 2008, The Southern Fried Regional Poetry Slam will kick off in the city's Gaines Street entertainment district.  The three-day event will be hosted by the nationally acclaimed Black on Black Rhyme Poetry Collective and take place at select venues in the area culminating with The Southern Fried Regional Poetry Slam Finals.

In addition, poets will host a youth poetry slam and community writing workshops open to the public.
